Directions when arriving at Aalborg

When arriving at Aalborg Airport, there are several options for further transportation:

Car rental, the most expensive option. There are (currently) 3 rental companies at the airport, but we have no experience with any of them, nor do we have any prices available. Please follow this link to a list of available car rental services at the airport.

Taxi, the second-most expensive one, but probably a good idea if you are travelling more people together or have a lot of baggage. A trip from the airport to the convention hall (more info here) is approx. 240 DKK and takes about 20 minutes. The phone number for Aalborg taxi is (+45) 98 10 10 10.

Bus, the cheapest solution. A 2-zone ticket for an adult is 18 DKK (please have spare change ready or 50 DKK bills), and the bus - line 2 - goes almost all the way to the premises. Please see the time table below and the location of the bus stops. Also note, that all line 2 busses have a letter after the number (2A, 2B, 2C etc.) and different end destinations; see the time tables at the end which destinations are important. You can save some money by buying a 10-ticket bus card at selected stores around town (ask if they have bus-cards for 2 zones).

Aalborg Airport:


Please use the bus stop located at the red dot when leaving the airport to go the NordCon convention. The green dot indicates where the bus stops when arriving from NordCon again; bus schedules available at the bottom of this text.

It is possible to change bus during the trip (at no extra cost), that will take you slightly closer to the convention place - in that case you need to change to the bus line 12 marked "Universitetet" at the below location:

Outside Aalborg train station (aka "JFK Plaza"):


This is an overview of the plaza right outside the Aalborg main train station ("Aalborg Station" located in the left area of the picture).

• Red dot is arrival point from Airport - bus line 2.
• Blue dot is departure point towards NordCon - bus line 12.
• Green dot is arrival point from NordCon - bus line 12.
• Purple dot is departure point from NordCon - bus line 2.

If you arrive by train, we recommend getting off at Aalborg main station ("Aalborg st/Hovedbanegård") and then proceeding straight to bus line 12 outside (blue dot in the above). Taxi is also an option; an estimate would be some 180 DKK for the trip to the convention premisis. The taxis are located out in front of the train station, just to the left of the [O1]-box on the picture. There is also a car rental service near by (to the south of the train station), but we have no experience with them nor do we know their opening hours.

For those arriving by long-distance busses, Aalborg main bus central is located here as well, in the grey building just below the blue dot in the above.

X marks the spot; this is where the NordCon convention will be held.

If coming by car, you need to follow the purple line, which indicates the route when using exit 26 on the E45 motorway. There is ample parking facilities (free) and plenty of room for trailers, too, if you have such need.

• Red dot is arrival point with bus line 2. Will take an additional 1 km of walking to get to the premises, unless you wait for a bus 12.
• Yellow dot is departure poin for bus line 2.
• Blue dot is arrival point for bus line 12.
• Green dot is departure point for bus line 12.

The pink box with the black outline is the location of the supermarket store (called "Fakta").

Bus line 2 - PDF

This is a red "metro"-type bus and will have various letters after its number as there are several versions of that bus line (all have different end destinations, but the same basic route when inside main Aalborg). There is only one of those that covers the Airport; when you need to get to the airport, though, make certain the destination on the bus says "Aabybro".

Of general interest are the stops named "Aalborg Lufthavn" ("Aalborg Airport") and "Aalborg busterminal A" (aka "JFK Plaza"). The bus does go all the way out in the general area of the convention, in which case the stop is called "Gigantium" (not mention in the list, but with times located between the last 2 stops, "Grønlandstorv" and "Universitetet".

Page 1 is going from the airport/train station towards the convention, with tables for Monday through Friday ("Mandag-fredag"), Saturday ("Lørdag") and Sunday ("Søndag"). Page 2 is going towards the airport/train station.

Bus line 12 - PDF

Of general interest here are the stops named "Aalborg busterminal F" (aka "JFK Plaza") and "DaVinci parken" ("The DaVinci Park"). This stop is located somewhere between the stops "Esbjergparken" and "Universitetet" in regards to the time.
