2010-07-10: NordCon 2010 non-attendee packages available!

It's taken a while, due to illness, important work, and some logistical problems that had to be solved, but now we have finally opened up the order form for the NordCon non-attendee packages! Three varieties are available: basic, deluxe light, and deluxe full, all containing the NordCon 2010 convention figure, Mixcoatl, plus some extras. Currently limited to one package per customer.
It's also possible to order the NordCon 2010 magazine on its own.

2010-07-02: First reviews/reports

The first NordCon reports have been posted on the NTFA Forums:
TFormer's report, and Palaste's report.
If you understand Swedish, or are satisfied just looking at the images, you can also check out DRarkeville's video reports at YouTube: part 1 and part 2.

NordCon now also has a Facebook page, at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=137718112908052

2010-06-21: NordCon 2010 is officially over

NordCon 2010

From left to right: Peter "BigPete" Casselö. Lars "Groundsplitter" Eriksson, and Martin "Fighbird" Lund, the NordCon 2010 organizers.

We wish to extend our deepest thanks to all the attendees of NordCon 2010, and we hope to see you again next time!
More info will be available when we've had a chance to rest for a while wink2.gif

2010-06-18: NordCon 2010 - behind the scenes!

A small clip with myself and Martin "Fighbird" Lund as we're struggling to get everything ready before the convention starts, showing that we need and have a great sense of humour ;) Enjoy!

2010-06-17: Final NordCon video update! More prizes revealed!

2010-06-16: A few small service announcements...
  • For those of you travelling by bus either from the airport or the train station, I highly encourage you to get hold of small DKK change. Most busdrivers frown upon being handed a 100-DKK note or higher, and could opt to reject giving you a ticket because of that. So buy something small at a local shop so you have at least 20 DKK (pr. person from the train station) or 30 DKK (pr. person going from the airport).

  • Just had a look at the local weather forecast for the weekend: Saturday will have a little rain in the morning, but otherwise a nice sunny day going up to 15 degrees Celcius in the afternoon. Sunday starts fine, but there will be rain from noon and on; temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees. So bring an umbrella!
2010-06-15: NordCon Prize Bonanza!

With only a few days left until NordCon 2010, we thought it was time to tell you a little about the prizes that are up for grabs in this year's various contests.

We have well over 100 prizes to hand out in six different competitions!

Needless to say, that's quite a few items for every lucky person ending up in the top three of the different contests!

So, what are we giving away? We don't want to spoil everything, so here are a few examples of prizes, without us telling what contests they are prizes in.
  • Hunt for the Decepticons leader class Starscream!
  • $100 gift card from BBTS!
  • E-Hobby Japan Exclusive Encore G1 Black Ironhide!
  • A selection of exclusive items, signed by people like Dan Gilvezan (G1 Bumblebee), David Kaye (Beast Wars Megatron), Lee Sullivan (comic artist), Wally Wingert (RiD Mirage/Sideburn), and more!
  • The GIANT Sam's Club Exclusive Universe 5-pack set "Battle for the Cyber Planet Keys"! Have you seen this? It's Fortress Maximus sized!
  • A bunch of the Revenge of the Fallen exclusive mail-away figure; Recon Ravage!
  • Universe Superion & Bruticus Maximus!
And a LOT more!

YOU
can be part of this massive prize bonanza by bringing your own creations in 3D and 2D, race against others
with Cyber Slammers, test your knowledge in the trivia quiz, and more!

All this and much, much more at NordCon 2010 in Aalborg, Denmark, 19-20 June!

See you there this weekend!

2010-06-15: Activision Nordic provides War for Cybertron gifts for the NordCon attendees

Activision Nordic has agreed to donate a gift for the NordCon attendees - a double-sided War For Cybertron poster!
Not only that - all attendees will also receive DVD with "Behind the Scenes" material for War For Cybertron! Regretably the DVD won't reach us in time for the convention as it doesn't reach their warehouse until next week, but Activision Nordic has promised to send out the DVD to all our attendees when it has been delivered to the warehouse!

2010-06-14: NordCon prices amended - some new late-minute passes

We have decided to amend the price table with some new options:
  • We will provide weekend passes at the door after all, to give anyone who wants to attend both days the same chance to save a little money as those who pre-register.
  • We have decided to add a Family ticket, at double the price of an Adult ticket. The Family ticket is selected automatically when the number of people you register qualify for it, and replaces the Adult/Children tickets. Basically it provides an upper limit to what your party has to pay to attend the convention.
2010-06-13: Less than 1 week to NordCon 2010!

Just a friendly reminder to those who have been living under a rock for the past couple of months: The NTFA Transformers-convention, NordCon 2010, is this coming weekend!

We are very excited about this years' programme, exclusive items and events, and we hope that this will be the biggest and best convention we've had ever! But with Simon Furma, an exclusive HeadRobots figure, a unique magazine, exclusive video material, 2010 toy product preview and LOTS of contests with awesome prizes, how can that not happen?!?

So if you haven't done so already, hurry up and register! The deadline for participating in the Saturday evening dinner has passed, sadly, but there is still time to get a weekend pass and reserve your copy of the exclusive HeadRobots toy, Mixcoatl! Or if you are still not certain if you can come yet, you can always pay at the door.

See you next weekend!

2010-05-31: NordCon registration deadlines
With less than three weeks to go until NordCon 2010, we need to declare some definitive registration deadlines.

While payments can still be accepted until the Friday before, on 18 June, we need to close the registrations a bit earlier, to reduce the risk that attendees register too late for the payments to have time to arrive. This is especially true for attendees planning to pay by bank, as it takes a couple of days for the bank payments to appear on the bank statements.

For attendees outside Denmark and Sweden planning to pay by bank, the last day to register is Friday 11 June.
For attendees within Denmark or Sweden planning to pay by bank, the last day to register is Tuesday 15 June.
For attendees paying over PayPal, the last day to register is Thursday 17 June.

In all these cases payment must reach us by Friday 18 June, so the closer to the deadline you register, the more promptly you have to send payment. If your payment fails to reach us in the allotted time, you will have to pay tickets at the door (the late payment will be repaid when it eventually appears).
Remember that you can't buy weekend passes at the door, only one-day passes.

2010-05-21: NordCon exclusive toy pictures!
Finally in from our supplier, those excellent people at HeadRobots, we now have pictures ready of the final product!

Click on images to enlarge! The yellow and green toy is the regular retail version of the Cobra toy, only included for comparison!

The Cobra toy comes on a re-closable clam-shell card, with a beautiful custom-made and professional backing card paying homage to a great era in Transformers history. We couldn't be more excited about this toy, and we hope you will as well!

Even though we only have 60 toys in total, there are still a few left, so hurry up and reserve your copy by signing up today!

2010-05-19: Brand new NordCon video update!

2010-05-16: Maccadam's Old Oil House offers 10% discount to all attendees!

One of the sponsors of NordCon 2010 is a newly opened eBay store named Maccadam's Old Oil House. They focus on G1 figures, parts, and accessories at a reasonable cost, and they will give all NordCon 2010 attendees a discount voucher with a code to use when shopping (for as long as supplies last). Maccadam's Old Oil House will then take 10% off your entire order!

The discount will be in effect starting June 19 and ending on June 30.

2010-05-14: Exclusive NordCon sticker sheet for all attendees!
In our ongoing effort to make NordCon 2010 the best event yet, we have some exclusive stickers for all attendees (for as long as supplies last), courtesy of sponsor Reprolabels.com!

The sticker sheet contains mixed Autobot symbols, as well as the flags of all Nordic countries, with Autobot symbols embedded into them! How cool is that?!? This sticker set is made by the good people at Reprolabels, for our exclusive use only, and will not be available anywhere else, so they are truly unique.

Will you be there too? If you haven't done so already, register now! Remember that the early-bird prices are valid until 15 May. After that the ticket prices increase!

2010-05-14: NordCon weekend schedule updated!
We've finalized a lot of events for the NordCon weekend - go check out the (almost) full programme here!

2010-05-13: 50 first NordCon attendees recieve exclusive postcards!
Thanks to Mr. Simon Plumbe, the main organizer of Auto Assembly, we are proud to announce that the first 50 people who register for NordCon 2010 will receive a set of the exclusive Auto Assembly 2009 postcards! There are two postcards in this set, featuring Beast Wars Cheetor and G1 Grimlock!

These artworks were made exclusively for Auto Assembly 2009 and have never been used elsewhere.

Beast Wars Cheetor is drawn and coloured by UK comic artists Simon Williams & Kris Carter, and G1 Grimlock is made by none other than Andrew Wildman!

2010-04-30: NordCon presents its first celebrity guest: Simon Furman!

More evidence that NordCon is aiming for the big league this year: We have secured our first celebrity guest, who will join us in Aalborg on June 19-20.
It's none other than Simon Furman, long-time writer on the Transformers comics! He started writing for the UK Transformers comic in 1985 and took over the US book in 1989. He has continued writing Transformers books for both the UK market and the North American market for 25 years, for Marvel Comics, Dreamwave Productions, IDW Publications, and Titan Magazines. He also wrote the final episode of the Beast Wars show on television. We are very excited to have him present at NordCon 2010, and we hope that you are too!

We are hoping to secure another one or two guests. Stay tuned for more information!

Small update: Simon will be present both days at the convention (and do a panel for each), so even if you only come for 1 day, you will still be able to meet him.

2010-04-30: Dealer information added
Information on dealers at NordCon 2010 has been added.

2010-04-13: NordCon 2010 convention programme/magazine will celebrate the creativity of the Nordic TransFans
We aspire to put together a convention programme/magazine featuring the fanfics and artwork of the Nordic TransFans. All Nordic TransFans are invited to participate, regardless of whether you can attend NordCon or not (registered attendees from other countries are also welcome). One or two entries will be awarded a copy of this year's convention figure!
Read about the convention magazine and the rules for contributing to it here.

Also, a rough convention schedule has been added!

2010-04-12: Package art for the special NordCon convention figure!
Here's a preview of the card art that HeadRobots.com has designed for the NordCon convention figure. They have done a fantastic job, don't you think? Only 60 units will be available, so don't wait too long to register!

2010-04-11: More info added!
Added information about the location in general, how to get there and accomodations.

2010-04-10: Registration has started!
Go directly to the order form, or check out some of the things we have to offer

2010-04-06: The organizers are proud to announce NordCon's first ever special convention figure: The Cobra HeadRobot from www.headrobots.com!
Based on an unused Takara design from the late 1980's, this figure can be used as a replacement head for your old Headmasters figures, or of course as a standalone toy. Our version will feature prototype colours (different from the colours depicted below) and comes in packaging unique to NordCon 2010, with a numbered card. Naturally we have developed a backstory for the character as well, a backstory that will be expanded in the programme/magazine that we're planning for the convention!

The quantity is limited, so register for the convention soon to secure your copy! (Maximum one per registered attendee)
